A Christmas poem to the love of my life …
Visions
Footsteps wandering through the sand
With intertwining fingers and hands
Palm trees abound, eclipsing the sun
Waves rolling in one by one.
Wonderful memoirs … wait, not so fast
Dreams of the future grow out of the past.
Hammers and nails beating the way
Painted perfection consumes the day
Toil and sweat, empty spaces are filled
We’ve not a house, but a home to build.
Wonderful memoirs … wait, not so fast
Dreams of the future grow out of the past.
Pinching pennies and cutting some costs
Agonizing about the pennies lost
Endowing accounts with hopes of return
Glimpses of delight from morsels we earn.
Wonderful memoirs … wait, not so fast
Dreams of the future grow out of the past.
Children here and children there
Laughter and tears, but don’t despair
Little lives that develop and grow
For the next generation of family we know.
Wonderful memoirs … wait, not so fast
Dreams of the future grow out of the past.
Navigating through the plains and hills,
From ocean to ocean, feel the chills!
Breathtaking sunsets rolling into the sky
Astonishing beauty awakes to the eye.
Wonderful memoirs … wait, not so fast
Dreams of the future grow out of the past.
Fond memories, into the fog do drift,
Whilst fresh new vistas befall our gift
The journey exceeded our wildest dreams,
But, the best is yet to come it seems.
Wonderful memoirs … wait, not so fast
Dreams of the future grow out of the past.
